Used Cars for Sale in Arcadia, CA: Teslas and EVs at the South El Monte Store via Santa Anita and the 605
By Premium Autos · · 6 min read
The short answer: Arcadia has no Premium Autos storefront — your store is South El Monte, down Santa Anita Avenue or the 605 south, with 488 used cars listed online first
Our Arcadia-area page gives the route plainly: from Arcadia, take Santa Anita Avenue or the 605 south to our South El Monte store at 9640 Garvey Avenue. There is no Arcadia lot and no Arcadia-only inventory; there is one South El Monte store serving Arcadia, with every car listed on this site by VIN before you drive. What follows is the full stock as of November 3, 2026, the Southern California Edison winter charging rates that took effect on October 1 — in winter the cheapest home-charging window is midday, not overnight, which is the opposite of what most new EV owners assume — and the checks to run at home first.
1. What is in stock for an Arcadia buyer
- The full selection, counted. As of November 3, 2026, Premium Autos lists 488 used vehicles across its two stores, including 193 Teslas and 265 electric vehicles in total. The South El Monte used cars page and the Arcadia-area page show the same live stock; numbers here are a November 3, 2026 snapshot. Our Arcadia city page counts 33 used Teslas at the South El Monte store itself as of the same date — the rest of the stock is at Norco and also listed online.
- Tesla depth, by model. The Tesla stock as of November 3, 2026 is 193 cars: 99 Model 3, 47 Model Y, 32 Model X and 15 Model S. Browse the used Tesla for sale hub, used Model 3 or used Model Y.
- Non-Tesla EVs worth the cross-shop: As of November 3, 2026 the non-Tesla electric stock includes Hyundai IONIQ 5 (13) and IONIQ 6 (8), Kia EV6 (7) and EV9 (6), Nissan LEAF (6) and Ariya (2), Ford Mustang Mach-E (5), Toyota bZ4X (4), Mercedes-Benz EQE (4), Chevrolet Equinox EV (3), Kia Niro EV (2), Lucid Air (2) and Rivian (2), plus a Chevrolet Bolt and a Cadillac Lyriq. All of them sit on the electric cars page next to the Teslas.
- The gasoline and hybrid side is just as deep. Toyota (56 vehicles) is the largest non-Tesla make, followed by Hyundai (29), Nissan (24), Ford (23), Honda (23), Chevrolet (20), Kia (18), Dodge (15), Mercedes-Benz (14), Lexus (12) and Ram (11) — sedans, used SUVs and trucks included. One trip south on Santa Anita covers both kinds of shortlist.
2. Charging at home in Arcadia: SCE’s winter rates make midday the cheap window, not overnight
- The winter season started October 1, and it flips the cheap hours. Arcadia homes are Southern California Edison customers, and SCE’s EV rate plan, TOU-D-PRIME, runs on a winter schedule from October through May. On SCE’s own Electric Vehicle Rate Plans page (checked November 3, 2026), the winter super-off-peak price is 24 cents per kWh between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., the overnight off-peak price is 30 cents, and the 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. mid-peak price is 45 cents. In summer (June–September) the pattern reverses: off-peak is 26 cents outside the 4–9 p.m. window and weekday on-peak is 61 cents. A buyer who sets the car to charge the moment they get home — into the 4–9 p.m. peak — pays the highest winter rate and nearly double the summer weekday peak in summer.
- SCE’s own framing: charging when rates are lowest, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., is roughly equivalent to a gasoline driver paying less than $2 a gallon. The trade-offs are on the same page: TOU-D-PRIME carries a $0.79-per-day base services charge, no baseline credit, and a higher fixed daily basic charge than other time-of-use plans in exchange for lower per-kWh rates — it suits households that use more energy, and EV or plug-in hybrid owners and lessees, households with a home battery, and households with electric heat pumps can enroll by attesting to eligibility.
- Set the schedule in the car, not by habit. Every Tesla in stock supports scheduled charging; set a departure-time or off-peak window that matches the season — midday in winter if the car sits at home during the day, overnight off-peak if it does not — and re-check it when the seasons change on June 1 and October 1. Our Supercharger cost guide and cost-to-charge guide cover what public and home charging cost side by side, and our charging-time guide shows how much range each window actually adds per model.
- One rebate still exists for the car itself. SCE’s Pre-Owned EV Rebate pays $1,000 to qualifying residential customers who buy or lease an eligible pre-owned EV, or $4,000 in total for income-qualified customers under Rebate Plus (California DriveClean listing for the SCE Pre-Owned EV Rebate Plus, checked November 3, 2026). The car must be on SCE’s eligible list, applications are due within 180 days of purchase or lease, and SCE — not the dealership — decides every claim. Checked November 3, 2026, the program’s application site (evrebates.sce.com) still posts a temporarily-unavailable notice, with already-submitted applications still being processed, so keep your paperwork and the 180-day deadline in view.
3. Check the exact car before you drive south
- Save the VIN or stock number of each candidate. Inventory turns over; an older article’s example car or price is not evidence about today’s lot. If a car you saved has sold, the closest matches are one filter away on the same hub pages.
- Pull the history from the vehicle page. Every listing includes a free CARFAX report, and the vehicle detail page has a history-report lookup by VIN or stock number — read the accident and damage history there before the trip, not at the curb.
- Run the recall check by VIN. Our recall-check guide walks through the free NHTSA and Tesla lookups; only a VIN check on the exact car tells you whether that car is in any open campaign.
- Smog is handled in a retail sale — and EVs never need it. In California the seller provides the smog certificate on a private-party sale, a dealer handles certification in a retail sale, and fully electric vehicles are exempt in every model year. Our California smog guide lays out the rules by fuel and year.
4. Money, stated plainly
- The federal used-EV tax credit is gone — a new bill is not a credit. Federal clean-vehicle credits are unavailable for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025 (IRS clean-vehicle credits page, checked November 3, 2026). A bill introduced October 22, 2026 (the 21st Century Vehicle Choice Act, H.R. 10881) would restore and enlarge the credits, but it is a proposal in committee, not law — reported October 28, 2026 and checked again November 3, 2026. Do not build a budget on it, and treat any page still advertising a $4,000 federal used-EV credit as out of date.
- California’s MyFirstEV is narrower than the headlines. Used-vehicle eligibility runs through participating manufacturers’ pre-owned programs — a low price alone does not qualify a car — and Tesla funds under the program are exhausted. Our MyFirstEV guide tracks the current manufacturer list; check it before assuming any specific car qualifies.
- Pricing and negotiation happen in person at the store — that is our policy for every buyer. For financing, you can get pre-qualified with Capital One online before the trip; pricing and terms themselves are handled in person at the store.
5. The Arcadia visit checklist
- Shortlist two or three cars, not ten. One Tesla, one non-Tesla EV or hybrid, and one gasoline alternative is a realistic single-visit comparison from this stock.
- Drive your actual commute pattern — the 210 and Huntington Drive runs you will use every day — and note the battery percentage or fuel used; that is your real range and economy test.
- Bring the paperwork you will need either way: driver’s license, insurance information, and your trade-in’s title and registration if you are trading in. Our trade-in guide covers how valuations work.
