Used Cars for Sale in Pomona, CA: Teslas and EVs at the South El Monte Store via the I-10 and the 60
By Premium Autos · · 6 min read
The short answer: Pomona has no Premium Autos storefront — your store is South El Monte, west on the I-10 or the 60, with 488 used cars listed online first
Our Pomona-area page gives the route plainly: Pomona drivers can take the I-10 or the 60 west to our South El Monte location on Garvey Avenue. There is no Pomona lot and no Pomona-only inventory; there is one South El Monte store serving Pomona, with every car listed on this site by VIN before you drive. What follows is the full stock as of November 3, 2026, the Southern California Edison Charge Ready Home rebates that decide whether home charging is cheap or expensive for a Pomona household — Pomona is SCE territory, as the City of Pomona’s own energy page confirms — and the checks to run at home first.
1. What is in stock for a Pomona buyer
- The full selection, counted. As of November 3, 2026, Premium Autos lists 488 used vehicles across its two stores, including 193 Teslas and 265 electric vehicles in total. The South El Monte used cars page and the Pomona-area page show the same live stock; numbers here are a November 3, 2026 snapshot. Our Pomona city page counts 33 used Teslas at the South El Monte store itself as of the same date — the rest of the stock is at Norco and also listed online.
- Tesla depth, by model. The Tesla stock as of November 3, 2026 is 193 cars: 99 Model 3, 47 Model Y, 32 Model X and 15 Model S. Browse the used Tesla for sale hub, used Model 3 or used Model Y.
- Non-Tesla EVs worth the cross-shop: As of November 3, 2026 the non-Tesla electric stock includes Hyundai IONIQ 5 (13) and IONIQ 6 (8), Kia EV6 (7) and EV9 (6), Nissan LEAF (6) and Ariya (2), Ford Mustang Mach-E (5), Toyota bZ4X (4), Mercedes-Benz EQE (4), Chevrolet Equinox EV (3), Kia Niro EV (2), Lucid Air (2) and Rivian (2), plus a Chevrolet Bolt and a Cadillac Lyriq. All of them sit on the electric cars page next to the Teslas.
- The gasoline and hybrid side is just as deep. Toyota (56 vehicles) is the largest non-Tesla make, followed by Hyundai (29), Nissan (24), Ford (23), Honda (23), Chevrolet (20), Kia (18), Dodge (15), Mercedes-Benz (14), Lexus (12) and Ram (11) — sedans, used SUVs and trucks included. One trip west on the 60 covers both kinds of shortlist.
2. Home charging in Pomona: SCE Charge Ready Home pays for the panel work, if you qualify
- Pomona is Edison country. The City of Pomona’s energy page lists Southern California Edison as the city’s power provider (checked November 3, 2026), so the SCE programs below — not LADWP’s or a municipal utility’s — are the ones a Pomona household applies to.
- Panel too small? Up to $4,200. If your Pomona home’s main electrical panel is under 200 amps and cannot support Level 2 charging, SCE’s Charge Ready Home program pays up to $4,200 toward replacing it with a 200-amp-or-higher panel plus a dedicated 240-volt EV outlet within 25 feet of off-street parking (SCE, Charge Ready Home eligibility page, checked November 3, 2026).
- Panel already 200 amps or larger? There is an outlet-only rebate of up to $1,000. The same SCE page lists a second rebate type: a dedicated outlet-only installation for homes whose panel can already support Level 2 charging. Check both rebate types before pricing a circuit-only install out of pocket.
- Who qualifies, from SCE’s own page: you must be an SCE residential customer, and qualify either by income (enrolled in a listed assistance program such as CalFresh/SNAP, Medi-Cal, LIHEAP, SSI or WIC — SCE’s eligibility page also lists enrollment in its own Pre-Owned EV Rebate Plus as a qualifying program) or by living in a designated disadvantaged community under the SB 535 list. Renters need the property owner’s approval first. The work must be done by a licensed and bonded contractor with all required permits and inspections, and approved participants must install a Level 2 charger within 180 days of receiving the panel rebate. SCE, not the dealership, approves every application.
- Price the whole install, not just the charger. Our home charger installation cost guide covers the math now that the federal installation credit has ended, and our charging-time guide shows what a Level 2 circuit actually adds overnight for each Tesla model in stock. If a home install is not possible, our guide to owning a Tesla without home charging covers the public-charging routine.
3. Check the exact car before you drive west on the 60
- Save the VIN or stock number of each candidate. Inventory turns over; an older article’s example car or price is not evidence about today’s lot. If a car you saved has sold, the closest matches are one filter away on the same hub pages.
- Pull the history from the vehicle page. Every listing includes a free CARFAX report, and the vehicle detail page has a history-report lookup by VIN or stock number — read the accident and damage history there before the trip, not at the curb.
- Run the recall check by VIN. Our recall-check guide walks through the free NHTSA and Tesla lookups; only a VIN check on the exact car tells you whether that car is in any open campaign.
- Smog is handled in a retail sale — and EVs never need it. In California the seller provides the smog certificate on a private-party sale, a dealer handles certification in a retail sale, and fully electric vehicles are exempt in every model year. Our California smog guide lays out the rules by fuel and year.
4. Money, stated plainly
- The federal used-EV tax credit is gone — a new bill is not a credit. Federal clean-vehicle credits are unavailable for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025 (IRS clean-vehicle credits page, checked November 3, 2026). A bill introduced October 22, 2026 (the 21st Century Vehicle Choice Act, H.R. 10881) would restore and enlarge the credits, but it is a proposal in committee, not law — reported October 28, 2026 and checked again November 3, 2026. Do not build a budget on it, and treat any page still advertising a $4,000 federal used-EV credit as out of date.
- California’s MyFirstEV is narrower than the headlines. Used-vehicle eligibility runs through participating manufacturers’ pre-owned programs — a low price alone does not qualify a car — and Tesla funds under the program are exhausted. Our MyFirstEV guide tracks the current manufacturer list; check it before assuming any specific car qualifies.
- Pricing and negotiation happen in person at the store — that is our policy for every buyer. For financing, you can get pre-qualified with Capital One online before the trip; pricing and terms themselves are handled in person at the store.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a Premium Autos dealership in Pomona?
No. The stores are in Norco and South El Monte, and South El Monte serves Pomona. From Pomona, take the I-10 or the 60 west to 9640 Garvey Avenue, South El Monte. There is no Pomona storefront or Pomona-only inventory.
How many used cars are available to Pomona buyers?

Can SCE really help pay for my Pomona home’s charging setup?
Yes, under Charge Ready Home, per SCE’s eligibility page checked November 3, 2026: SCE residential customers who qualify by income or disadvantaged-community address can receive up to $4,200 toward a panel upgrade plus EV outlet when the existing panel is under 200 amps, or up to $1,000 toward an outlet-only installation when the panel can already support Level 2 charging. A licensed and bonded contractor, permits and inspections are required, a Level 2 charger must be installed within 180 days of the panel rebate, and SCE — not the dealership — approves every application.
Has the federal EV tax credit come back?
No. Federal clean-vehicle credits remain unavailable for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025. The bill introduced October 22, 2026 would restore and enlarge them, but it sits in committee and is not law — do not delay or budget a purchase around it.
