Used Cars for Sale in Fontana, CA: Teslas and EVs at the Norco Store Down the I-15

By Premium Autos · · 6 min read

The short answer: Fontana has no Premium Autos storefront — your store is Norco, straight down the I-15 to the Hamner Avenue exits, and the whole 493-car selection is listed online before you drive

Our Fontana-area page puts it plainly: from Fontana, take the I-15 south straight to the Hamner Avenue exits and our Norco showroom at 2100 Hamner Avenue. There is no Fontana lot, no Fontana address and no separate Fontana inventory — there is one Norco store serving Fontana, and every car on it is listed on this site with its VIN, so the shopping happens online and the drive happens once, for a car you have already picked. This guide covers what is actually in stock as of October 31, 2026, the Southern California Edison used-EV rebate a Fontana household can claim — including the program website’s current outage, checked today — and the checks to run before the trip.

1. What is in stock for a Fontana buyer

  • The full selection, counted. As of October 31, 2026, Premium Autos lists 493 used vehicles across its two stores, including 188 Teslas and 262 electric vehicles in total. Browse it on the Norco used cars page or the Fontana-area page above — both show the same live stock, and the count changes as cars sell, so treat any number here as an October 31 snapshot, not a promise. Our Fontana city page counts 159 used Teslas at the Norco store itself as of the same date.
  • Teslas are the deepest bench. The Tesla stock as of October 31, 2026 is 188 cars: 91 Model 3, 48 Model Y, 33 Model X and 16 Model S. Start at the used Tesla hub, or go straight to used Model 3 and used Model Y listings.
  • Other EVs are a real second aisle, not a token row. As of October 31, 2026 the non-Tesla electric stock includes Hyundai IONIQ 5 (13) and IONIQ 6 (7), Kia EV6 (7) and EV9 (7), Nissan LEAF (6) and Ariya (2), Ford Mustang Mach-E (5), Toyota bZ4X (4), Cadillac Lyriq (4) and Mercedes-Benz EQE (4), plus smaller numbers of Chevrolet Bolt, Kia Niro EV, BMW i4 and Lucid Air. The electric cars page filters all of it in one place.
  • Gasoline and hybrid stock is the rest of the lot. Toyota (62 vehicles) is the largest non-Tesla make, followed by Hyundai (29), Nissan (25), Ford (23), Honda (22), Chevrolet (20), Kia (18), Mercedes-Benz (16), Dodge (14), Lexus (12) and Ram (11) — sedans, used SUVs and trucks included. A Fontana household cross-shopping a Tesla against a hybrid or a truck can drive both on the same visit.

2. The rebate a Fontana EV buyer can actually claim: SCE’s Pre-Owned EV Rebate — and its website is down today

  • $1,000 standard, $4,000 for income-qualified buyers — from your utility, not the dealer. Southern California Edison offers a $1,000 Pre-Owned EV Rebate to qualifying residential customers who buy or lease an eligible pre-owned battery-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, plus an additional $3,000 for income-qualified customers under Rebate Plus, for a $4,000 total (California’s DriveClean program listing for the SCE Pre-Owned EV Rebate Plus, checked October 31, 2026). Fontana homes are SCE customers, so this is the local program to price into a used-EV budget — ahead of any headline tax credit.
  • Checked October 31, 2026: the program’s own application site is temporarily unavailable. SCE’s Pre-Owned EV Rebate site (evrebates.sce.com) currently posts a notice that the site is temporarily unavailable, and that applications already submitted will continue to be processed with nothing further needed from applicants. That is a website outage notice, not a program cancellation — but it does mean a Fontana buyer cannot start a new online application on that site today. Note the program’s standing rules before you buy: the car must be on SCE’s Eligible Vehicle List, the claim ties to an active SCE residential account with the vehicle registered to that service address, applications are due within 180 days of purchase or lease, and the vehicle must stay registered in California for at least 20 months. SCE decides every claim — Premium Autos does not administer this rebate and cannot promise it for a specific car.
  • Check the exact car’s charging kit before you buy. Confirm the mobile connector is with the car, open the charge port, and ask to see the car charge. Our charging-time guide and home charger installation cost guide cover the home setup math if you plan to charge in a Fontana garage.

3. Check the exact car before you drive south on the I-15

  • Save the VIN or stock number of each candidate. Inventory turns over; an older article’s example car or price is not evidence about today’s lot. If a car you saved has sold, the closest matches are one filter away on the same hub pages.
  • Pull the history from the vehicle page. Every listing includes a free CARFAX report, and the vehicle detail page has a history-report lookup by VIN or stock number — read the accident and damage history there before the trip, not at the curb.
  • Run the recall check by VIN. Our recall-check guide walks through the free NHTSA and Tesla lookups; only a VIN check on the exact car tells you whether that car is in any open campaign.
  • Smog is handled in a retail sale — and EVs never need it. In California the seller provides the smog certificate on a private-party sale, a dealer handles certification in a retail sale, and fully electric vehicles are exempt in every model year. Our California smog guide lays out the rules by fuel and year.

4. The two money facts Fontana buyers get wrong

  • The federal used-EV tax credit is gone — a new bill is not a credit. Federal clean-vehicle credits are unavailable for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025 (IRS clean-vehicle credits page, checked October 31, 2026). A bill introduced October 22, 2026 (the 21st Century Vehicle Choice Act, H.R. 10881) would restore and enlarge the credits, but it is a proposal in committee, not law — reported October 28, 2026 and checked again October 31, 2026. Do not build a budget on it, and treat any page still advertising a $4,000 federal used-EV credit as out of date.
  • California’s MyFirstEV is narrower than the headlines. Used-vehicle eligibility runs through participating manufacturers’ pre-owned programs — a low price alone does not qualify a car — and Tesla funds under the program are exhausted. Our MyFirstEV guide tracks the current manufacturer list; check it before assuming any specific car qualifies.
  • Pricing happens in person. We do not negotiate or quote out-the-door numbers online — that is store policy, not a sales tactic. For financing, you can get pre-qualified with Capital One online before the trip; pricing and terms themselves are handled in person at the store.

5. The Fontana visit checklist

  • Shortlist two or three cars, not ten. One Tesla, one non-Tesla EV or hybrid, and one gasoline alternative is a realistic single-visit comparison from this stock.
  • Drive your actual commute pattern — the I-15 and I-10 merges you will use every day — and note the battery percentage or fuel used; that is your real range and economy test.
  • Bring the paperwork you will need either way: driver’s license, insurance information, and your trade-in’s title and registration if you are trading in. Our trade-in guide covers how valuations work.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Premium Autos dealership in Fontana?

No. Premium Autos has two stores — Norco and South El Monte — and the Norco store serves Fontana. From Fontana, take the I-15 south straight to the Hamner Avenue exits at 2100 Hamner Avenue, Norco. Anyone listing a Premium Autos address inside Fontana is mistaken.

How many used cars can a Fontana buyer choose from?

As of October 31, 2026, 493 used vehicles across both stores, including 188 Teslas (91 Model 3, 48 Model Y, 33 Model X and 16 Model S), with 159 used Teslas counted at the Norco store itself on our Fontana city page. The live count on the Fontana-area and Norco pages is the current figure; this article’s numbers are a dated snapshot.

Can a Fontana buyer really get $1,000 back on a used EV?

That is SCE’s Pre-Owned EV Rebate: $1,000 for qualifying SCE residential customers who buy or lease an eligible pre-owned EV, or $4,000 in total for income-qualified customers under Rebate Plus, per the program terms checked October 31, 2026. The car must be on SCE’s Eligible Vehicle List and the application is due within 180 days of purchase. Note that the program’s application website was temporarily unavailable when checked on October 31, 2026, with already-submitted applications still being processed — SCE, not the dealership, approves every claim.

Can I still get a tax credit on a used Tesla bought in Fontana?

Not the federal one: federal clean-vehicle credits are unavailable for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025, and the October 2026 bill to restore them is a proposal, not law. California’s MyFirstEV used-vehicle route runs only through participating manufacturers’ pre-owned programs, and Tesla funds in that program are exhausted, so do not count on a credit for a used Tesla.

Start with the list, then make one trip down the I-15
