Used Cars for Sale in Alhambra, CA: Down Garvey Avenue to the South El Monte Store

By Premium Autos · · 6 min read

The short answer: Alhambra has no Premium Autos storefront — your store is South El Monte, straight east on Garvey Avenue or the I-10, the same street our store sits on, with 499 used cars listed online first

Alhambra is one of the shortest drives to a Premium Autos store of any city we serve, and this guide will not pretend it is anything more complicated than that. Our Alhambra-area page gives the route plainly: from Alhambra, take Garvey Avenue or the I-10 east to our South El Monte location at 9640 Garvey Avenue. Garvey Avenue runs from Alhambra through the San Gabriel Valley into South El Monte — the store is on the same street. There is no Alhambra lot and no Alhambra-only inventory; there is one South El Monte store serving Alhambra, with every car listed on this site by VIN before you drive. What follows is the full stock as of October 28, 2026, the home-charging rate plan an Alhambra EV buyer should price before buying, and the checks to run at home first.

1. What is in stock for an Alhambra buyer

  • The full selection, counted. As of October 28, 2026, Premium Autos lists 499 used vehicles across its two stores, including 198 Teslas. The South El Monte used cars page and the Alhambra-area page show the same live stock; numbers here are an October 28, 2026 snapshot.
  • Tesla depth, by model. The Tesla stock as of October 28, 2026 is 198 cars: 96 Model 3, 54 Model Y, 32 Model X and 16 Model S. Our Pasadena and Alhambra city pages each count 30 used Teslas at the South El Monte store itself as of the same date. Browse the used Tesla hub, used Model 3 or used Model Y. No dedicated Alhambra guide — Tesla-only or otherwise — existed on this site before this one.
  • Non-Tesla EVs worth the cross-shop: As of October 28, 2026 the non-Tesla electric stock includes Hyundai IONIQ 5 (14) and IONIQ 6 (7), Kia EV6 (7) and EV9 (6), Nissan LEAF (6) and Ariya (2), Ford Mustang Mach-E (4), Toyota bZ4X (4), Cadillac Lyriq (4) and Mercedes-Benz EQE (4), plus smaller numbers of Chevrolet Bolt, Kia Niro EV, BMW i4 and Lucid Air. All of them sit on the electric cars page next to the Teslas.
  • The gasoline and hybrid side is just as deep. Toyota (60 vehicles) is the largest non-Tesla make, followed by Hyundai (30), Nissan (26), Ford (21), Honda (19), Kia (18), Mercedes-Benz (17), Chevrolet (15), Dodge (14), Lexus (12) and Ram (12) — sedans, used SUVs and trucks included. One short drive down Garvey covers both kinds of shortlist.

2. Home charging in Alhambra: price the rate plan, not just the car

  • If your Alhambra home is on Southern California Edison, the EV rate plan is TOU-D-PRIME. SCE’s plan is built for households with an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, a home battery or an electric heat pump: you attest that you qualify when you enroll. SCE publishes the shape of the plan plainly — the lowest rates run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and after 9 p.m., and the hours to avoid are 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. every day (SCE, TOU-D-PRIME fact sheet, checked October 28, 2026). The trade-off is a higher fixed daily basic charge and no baseline credit, in exchange for lower off-peak per-kWh rates — so the plan rewards a buyer who can schedule charging, and punishes one who plugs in at 6 p.m. and charges immediately.
  • Set the car’s charging schedule on day one. Every Tesla and most other EVs in our stock can be scheduled to start charging after 9 p.m. or in the midday window. Our charging-time guide shows what each session takes, and our home charger installation cost guide covers the Level 2 install math now that the federal installation credit has ended.
  • Confirm the charging kit on the exact car: mobile connector present, charge port working, and a short charge witnessed before you sign. A missing cable is a real cost; find it in the inspection, not in your driveway.

3. Check the exact car before you drive east on Garvey

  • Save the VIN or stock number of each candidate. Inventory turns over; an older article’s example car or price is not evidence about today’s lot. If a car you saved has sold, the closest matches are one filter away on the same hub pages.
  • Pull the history from the vehicle page. Every listing includes a free CARFAX report, and the vehicle detail page has a history-report lookup by VIN or stock number — read the accident and damage history there before the trip, not at the curb.
  • Run the recall check by VIN. Our recall-check guide walks through the free NHTSA and Tesla lookups; only a VIN check on the exact car tells you whether that car is in any open campaign.
  • Smog is handled in a retail sale — and EVs never need it. In California the seller provides the smog certificate on a private-party sale, a dealer handles certification in a retail sale, and fully electric vehicles are exempt in every model year. Our California smog guide lays out the rules by fuel and year.

4. Money, stated plainly

  • The federal used-EV tax credit is gone. Federal clean-vehicle credits are unavailable for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025 (IRS clean-vehicle credits page, checked October 28, 2026). Any page still advertising a $4,000 federal used-EV credit is out of date; do not build a budget on it.
  • California’s MyFirstEV is narrower than the headlines. Used-vehicle eligibility runs through participating manufacturers’ pre-owned programs — a low price alone does not qualify a car — and Tesla funds under the program are exhausted. Our MyFirstEV guide tracks the current manufacturer list; check it before assuming any specific car qualifies.
  • Pricing and negotiation happen in person at the store — that is our policy for every buyer. For financing, you can get pre-qualified with Capital One online before the trip; pricing and terms themselves are handled in person at the store.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Premium Autos dealership in Alhambra?

No. The stores are in Norco and South El Monte, and South El Monte serves Alhambra. From Alhambra, take Garvey Avenue or the I-10 east to 9640 Garvey Avenue, South El Monte — the store is on Garvey Avenue itself. There is no Alhambra storefront or Alhambra-only inventory.

How many used cars are available to Alhambra buyers?

As of October 28, 2026: 499 used vehicles across both stores, including 198 Teslas (96 Model 3, 54 Model Y, 32 Model X and 16 Model S), with 30 used Teslas counted at the South El Monte store itself on our city pages. The live pages carry the current count.

What electricity rate plan should an Alhambra EV buyer look at?

If your home is a Southern California Edison account, look at TOU-D-PRIME: it is SCE’s plan for EV and plug-in hybrid households, with its lowest rates from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and after 9 p.m., and its highest from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., per SCE’s fact sheet. It carries a higher daily basic charge and no baseline credit, so run your own usage through SCE’s comparison before switching — the right answer depends on when your household actually uses power.

Can I check a specific car’s history and recalls before driving to South El Monte?

Yes — that is the point of working from the listing. Each vehicle page includes a free CARFAX report and a VIN/stock-number history lookup, and our recall guide walks through the free NHTSA VIN search. Do both at home; spend the short visit driving the car.
